I have a buddy who had a thought that he would farm them like MAD when GW:EN was announced, he has tons of the mods. Luckly he was right and they were nerfed.
his name is Smity Smitington.
if anyone wants a mod that is not nerfed pm him,
-great scoot

It's bugged in the sense that it does 25% to charr and -25% to other races

I've seen people get picked over others for groups simply because they had a notch higher lightbringer level. Even if it really doesn't have that much effect while playing, any small damage bonus you can claim, unfortunately, can help you get into groups. And, I also have to say that I'm going to sell a 10^50 mod to a merchant without flinching, while I'm going to salvage the 15^50 mod.
In the end though, I really don't care if its 20% or 25%, as long as everyone has the same rules applied. I remember the days of the old Henge of Denravi swords that were worth over 100k. I don't want to see another set of items with insane prices, simply because Anet updated the collector but was too lazy to remove all the existing mods.

There was a theory Anet couldnt alter golds or something. Hence why only mods, collectors items and greens have been altered.
Also there are so few unconditional weapons its pretty pointless. After dozens of hours of reseach I have only been able to verify the existence of 24. Off the top of my head I think 8 are on 5 active accounts. Of those 8 or so I know for a fact my two which are customized are never used. I am sure a few others arnt used regularly. All the other nerfed items were in far greater numbers and used in PVP alot.
For PVE and PVP I would rather use 15>50 and 20<50 as when your health drops below 50% you get 5% more damage than you would using for example a 15% unconditional. So although the stats look 1337 on them 15>50 and 20<50 would be better and a hell of a lot cheaper. Maybe im missing something as I dont know much about game mechanics.
Not sure why the Charr slaying mod was removed though. Even more baffled why they left the existing ones. Alot of people are going to get rich which is a great thing in my opinion as Anet have screwed alot of people over so they deserve the chance to make some gold.

Haha, thats true! At the other hand: then why is Anet 'balancing' something that has hardly or no effect at all in fighting?

Think some people are missing the point. It is less about the damage and more about the principle of nerfing things.

Exactly, while anets is free to nerf 25% charslaying mod to 20%, but killing only source while leaving items ingame is ... wtf?

I've often noticed Greens and other "special" items take longer to appear in my inventory and assumed it's because the item details are read from somewhere other than whatever file my inventory is stored in.
Have to say though - I've still got a bow grip of Charrslaying, that was not attached to anything when the nerf hit, and it's still at 25% - either unattached mods haven't been hit or they've got some script running, that's gonna get us all eventually.
